The NZCS Code of Professional Conduct is issued under the provisions of clause 23 of the Constitution of the New Zealand Computer Society Incorporated and is binding on all members of the Society.
On 28 May 2010 the members of the Society voted to replace the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct with the new NZCS Code of Professional Conduct below.
Structure of the Code
The Code is made up of three components:
- The code itself, made up of 8 Tenets
- Guidelines and Interpretation, to assist in interpretation of the Code
- Breaches and Disciplinary Process, defined within the NZCS Bylaws
The Code is mandatory. ALL members of the Society must abide by the NZCS Code of Professional Conduct, hence it is essential to have a good working understanding and knowledge of it.
