NZCS Specialist Groups (also known as Special Interest Groups or SIGs) are sub-groups of the Society that share an interest in a specialist ICT area such as Security or Professional Testing.
NZCS SIGs meet regularly and provide a range of events and speakers in their subject of expertise, as well as providing input and information to the Society in their chosen field to assist with public advocacy.
Most SIGs attract a small annual fee in addition to the NZCS subs to cover operational costs. If you would like to join a SIG please print and send the relevant application form below. If you would like more information or are interested in starting a new SIG, please contact NZCS.

The Technology Law Society (TLS) is technically not a SIG although works with the NZCS in a similar way. The main difference is that the TLS is an Incorporated Society in its own right.
The growth of technology, such as biotechnology and ICT, raises significant challenges as to how the law should be understood and applied. The TLS operates in Auckland and Wellington and exists to:
- Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and in-depth examination of all things related to technology and the law
- Keep members up-to-date with developments in technology and the law.
Annual membership of the TLS is $90 (incl GST) for individual members, $35 (incl GST) for students, or $300 (incl GST) for Corporate Membership. You can join by downloading and posting in the TLS application Form.
