ICTTop100 Lunch: NZCS Professional Certification
18 March 2009: 12:15 pm - 2:00 pm
Auckland Club
34 Shortland Street
Auckland
ICTTop100 is a forum where senior ICT professionals and managers come together to discuss and debate a particular topic in detail, over a formal lunch.
Discussion takes place under the Chatham House rule, and the outcomes are then forwarded to various stakeholders (such as NZCS, Government, etc).
NZCS Professional Certification
This month's ICTTop100 will be discussing NZCS Professional Certification.
As most will know, NZCS has now released a draft model for professional certification in New Zealand, which maps to the certifications available in many other countries around the world. Professional certification from an independent professional body is an essential element of every profession, and the equivalent programmes in other countries have led to significant benefits to the profession and the public.
This month's ICTTop100 will be focusing primarily on:
- The overall proposal
- Should we stay fully aligned to the BCS, ACS, CIPS, and IFIP
- How we will encourage our staff to qualify
- What will we write in a contract as a vendor
- What will we write in a contract as a purchaser
You can view the Draft Model here. We strongly recommend you read it before attending, and be ready for some vigorous discussion and debate!
