Jim Highsmith (amongst other things, the director of the Agile Project Management Advisory Service for the Cutter Consortium) has said "Agile is a way of thinking, not a particular practice."

Whilst this is true and very relevant - it doesn't really answer the question 'but what is Agile, with a capital A'.

This presentation is aimed at explaining what Agile is (from a software development perspective) and examines:

• Why Agile?
• Some of the flavours of Agile development
• The Agile Manifesto
• The key features of any Agile process
• Some key reasons why agile fails

During this event, you will hear Gillian Clark, a founding member of the Agile Professionals Network talk to you about what Agile actually is and what that may mean to you as a test professional.

Gillian has extensive, multi national, experience in IT management, is a founder member of the Agile Professionals Network is a leading agile advocate within New Zealand is an Agile Project Management trainer; agile development coach, provides coaching and consultancy for Agile Development; is a qualified Scrum practitioner a Scrum Product Owner, and a certified Agile Project Leader (foundation).
