NZCS is in the process of facilitating the development a Code of Practice for Cloud Computing on behalf of the ICT sector.
The Code is being developed in consultation with all stakeholders in New Zealand and will benefit both suppliers and users of Cloud Computing Services.
If you're interested in Cloud Computing, come along and hear about this initiative and provide your input into the structure and approach that the code should take. This is the first consultation workshop covering structure, with topics such as the specific content held over the coming months.

About the Project
Cloud Computing is a growth area in New Zealand and around the world and represents a significant opportunity for providers both domestically and globally.
However the reputation of the Cloud Computing community in NZ is threatened by the lack of standards and practice guidelines. This, combined with a lack of understanding of the accepted definitions of "cloud computing" and what it entails, results in a situation where services are being offered that go not meet what is generally considered acceptable standards of practice.
The New Zealand Cloud Computing Code of Practice is intended to address many of the social and industry focused challenges.
Support
The NZ Cloud Code Initiative is supported by many of New Zealand's most prominent cloud providers as well as international cloud leaders such as Google and Microsoft.
Financial contributors to the project include Xero, Gen-I, Equinox, OneNet, Webdrive, Google, Salesforce.com, InternetNZ, NZRise, EOSS Online Ltd, Systems Advisory Services and NZCS.
