Organisations are increasingly putting the emphasis of Business Continuity into the capable hands of the IT manager or CIO.
It is important that the IT manager or CIO can communicate the boundaries of the IT department in terms recovery capability (RPO and RTO) in a language (BRO) that can be understood by the business.
The challenge of risk management (BCP/DR) remains high for organisations that require annual audits and this is going to get tougher with the publication of new international and local standards.
In this presentation Dean McCarthy will talk about the standards and the challenges of communications between business and IT.

About The Speaker
Dean McCarthy is a business continuity management practitioner assisting organisations to identify, plan for, and recover from high impact incidents that may disable business operations.
He has a wealth of experience in business continuity management specialising in facilitated crisis simulation role play exercises and the interface between the business and IT.
He is a founder and director of BCM International where he draws on his experience to ensure businesses are aware of, and prepared for, the risks they face.
