So what is the role of an Enterprise Analyst?
Shane Hastie will shed light on the role of the Enterprise Analyst by examining the Enterprise Analysis Knowledge Area that is contained in the vast Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, BABOKTM.
Shane will explain:
- What is included and what are some of the key techniques and tools of Enterprise Analysis
- Understanding the role of strategic goals and objectives and how the business analyst contributes to and is guided by overall strategy
- Understanding the various levels of Enterprise and Business Architecture; how they flow into the tactical data, system and application architectures and how they impact on business analysis activities
- Understanding risk as it relates to enterprise level activities, and how it guides the business analyst in conducting systems investigations
- Identifying and presenting business requirements and how they lead into the more granular system, user, quality and functional requirements for new or enhanced systems

About The Speaker
Shane has over 20 years experience in software development and implementation. Significant projects included the development of an Irrigated Cane Management System for a large sugar cane plantation in Swaziland, a pharmaceutical drug dissolution analysis system to prepare registration applications, a volume/sales tracking system for sawmills, a security guard scheduling and monitoring system, plus an Airline Revenue Management System, sold to 12 airlines throughout Africa, from Mozambique to Ghana.
In addition to his expertise in requirements engineering, use cases and peer reviews, Shane provides training in project management, systems analysis, software testing as well as design techniques using traditional, Object Oriented and Agile methodologies.
Shane is also a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAPTM) and has a Masters degree in Information Management from Victoria University of Wellington. He is also a member of the International Institute of Business Analysts, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the NZCS.
