11 June 2009: 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Room A211
Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology
Nelson
Campus Map: tinyurl.com/nmit-a211

Why do I.C.T. projects fail and what the basic steps you can take to ensure success?

Martin Aitken will explore two key topics in this project management overview.

Firstly, the key ways to protect your projects against failure, and secondly, a comparison of the key project management methodologies.

A clear understanding of project management methodologies and relevant certifications are becoming increasingly important for everyone involved in IT projects today. Martin will explain to us the difference between the Project Management Professional (PMP) and PRINCE2 (Projects IN Controlled Environments) certifications. Is one better than the other?

Martin will also look at the organisations behind these two certifications and will also clarify the benefits of methodologies such as SCRUM and Agile.

Includes Light Lunch
